1. Preface
In everything that follows, a photograph shall be defined as «any physical or computer document that reproduces an image on an analogue or digital base». The Client is a company or an independent professional who wishes to lease photos. «francevuesurmer.com», «francecoastline.com», «dday04.com», «photo-aviation.com», «lesilesdefrance.com», «british-islands.com», «pascallefichant.com», in a position to lease photos, shall be designated as «THE SITES».The online texts and photographs on THE SITES shall be considered to be creations protected by French and international law on intellectual property. They shall not in any case be free of copyright.

2. Leasing of photographs
Photographs supplied to the Client shall be subject to a transfer of copyrights. This is therefore not a matter of sale but of lease of rights corresponding to an application that is clearly specified by the Client. THE SITES shall constitute a bank of images that allows theClient to select the photographs of interest to him. Prior to any commercial agreement between THE SITES and the Client, this latter must fill out the estimate request form online on THE SITES.As regards negotiation, the Client can request the loan of low-definition photograph files that he has selected. The loan of these files formally excludes all use other than the production of models.The Client's agreement and the final order are conditional upon a confirmation in writing and by payment upon receipt of the invoice of the amount of copyrights. Any other use can only be derogatory and conditional upon written acceptance OF THE SITES.Without prior written agreement FROM THE SITES, lease of copyrights is limited to just one base, for just one publication for just one title in just one language. Any transfer to a database, another title or another media base, any re-edition or modification of the usage that was initially intended are prohibited without prior written authorization FROM THE SITES.TheClient agrees not to modify the photograph, framing, legend or texts without prior written authorization FROM THE SITES. Changes, if any, shall be the sole responsibility of the Client.The Client agrees to send to the SITES all publication supporting documentation.The Client agrees to destroy the electronic files or to return the analogue documents to the SITES after use.Lease of copyrights does not involve exclusivity unless there is a specific agreement.The indication «©pascallefichant.com» must imperatively appear on all document published unless there is a prior written agreement from THE SITES.

3. Conditions for use of photographs
The Client shall be responsible for the use of photographs whose copyrights he has leased. It shall be his sole responsibility to determine if the use of a photograph requires the consent of a third party. He must in particular pay close attention that the rights of persons and/or the owners of artworks or places photographed be respected. Anypublication without the written agreement of persons and/or owners of artworks or places photogrhed with the rights of these persons and/or these owners, shall involve the sole responsibility of the Client. This latter expressly agrees, in case of litigation, not to shift his responsibility to THE SITES or to implead upon them.The use of the photographs IN THE SITES is solely reserved to the Client who as leased the copyrights within the scope of a clearly specified application, and with the formal agreement OF THE SITES. Any other utilization is strictly forbidden, in particular copying, duplication, digitalization from paper photos, posting without written authorization FROM THE SITES on an internet site. No intervener, be they a physical or moral person, internet site or image databank is authorized to market or use the photos FROM THE SITES without prior written agreement. Likewise, the capacity that a third person, whether a physical or moral person, to access a photograph does not in and ofitself represent the right to utilize the latter.The present conditions shall be interpreted according to the legislation related to contracts concluded and executed in France. THE SITES and the Client expressly declare that they grant exclusive jurisdiction to the Courts of Hauts-de-Seine, France.

The photos you can see on this site do not really do justice to the original file quality. There are several reasons for this :
- the high compression (we have limited the size of our screen photos to approximately 100 Kb, giving a download time of 15 to 20 seconds with a 56 K modem).
- their limited scale (goes with file size). With the original files we can offer views 1.06 m wide...
- post-processing compromises linked to the quantity of photos to be processed (15 000).


To obtain a quality digital photo, you need to carry out post-processing from the original file. Given the number of photos taken, we have automated this work. : mist, cloud, atmospheric haze, morning light, full sun, evening light, changes in direction, sometimes with into-sun situations when we were photographing a particularly complex coastline, and the colours of the locations. We therefore had to compromise.

Following several try-outs, we selected a « reasonable » processing script, with middle-of-the-road rendition, in order to avoid chromatic aberrations and derivations.

Nevertheless, we would like to show you the real quality of a photo, obtained after specific processing.

Zoom / Focus / Details
The name of the lighthouse, "Saint Mathieu", appears on the enlargement, while it is not visible on the site photo (shot distance : approximately 1 kilometre).
